sunday, at last. i have to be honest (as i am with you here, but the use of the phrase here i find cathartic), i have been ready for sunday to come. this truly is the day where i feel i can let go of it all, breathe, and reboot from life. with all that moves in the daily motions of the world, being still and reflecting is important to give yourself assurance (this week’s topic). what a powerful thing to be able to give to yourself; a dose of confidence to go forward and seek progress. remember though, progress is not linear and cannot be confined and standardized; it may look different from person to person.
it has been a great week, and also a week of learning and needed adaptation for myself personally, so naturally, i wrote about it. i hope that the below instills a dose of assurance within you. i implore you to share if something is calling to you… x.
POETRY CIRCLE
may each day get better than today
for i am swimming in a room full of tears
of poisoned waters, tainted from the lies you told
lead me on and made me afraid to let go
-
the room you take up in my head
you do not even pay rent
using up all the water i give
for you to take and throw away
love is no longer safe, in this home
time for me to rebuild and let go
prose’s pond
i wish they wanted to, i wish they would
in moments like this though, i have to relinquish it
the control, the desire, the emotions; for i laid a clear path
and all they wanted was to take a u-turn
because they were afraid of what lies ahead
memory lane
i am remembering a lot of things from before lately; before big changes, big questions, big proses. the idea of something being big is an indirect assignment of value. if you really think about it, the small things add up to becoming the big things. the sip of your favorite drink, the taste of your favorite meal, the smell of your favorite candle. all of these things help induce something within us to make us feel big, powerful and of value once again. the image above reminds me on how the photographer, my best friend Joann, makes me feel seen and valued when we are simply in the same space together. my hope this week is that you also have something, or someone even, to make you feel seen and valued.
