about staying bright during the dark times

hi angels, happy sunday; may today allow you to move gently and freely as the sun on a kind spring day. what a week it has been, in more ways than can be classified simply by ‘good’ or ‘bad’. with all the news updates in america, the state of high fluctuation the majority of the world seems to be in right now, so much remains to be seen. the year of the fire horse has officially started, and already i see so much lighting on fire. my hope these days is that whatever burns down, rises back up in a brighter way to help the world shed unneeded weight to move more freely and organically.

this week i found myself truly spinning during the first half of it due to personal events taking place, as well as unsettling news circulating about the governing body of america, truly dark events coming into the light and showing how deeply disturbed some of mankind is. with that, i felt a need to counteract this odd energy with something light, warm and optimistic. may the below pieces help you as they have helped me.

you are as decadent

as a first chair violin

vibrating with a love

so supple and sweet

i find myself on my knees

simply at the sight of you

wondering what life could be

if i just had a moment to be

held and cared for by you

instead of maybe

say i will

replace the bitter words

with sweet ones to coerce

the mind from wondering

into convinced certainty

that you are meant to be

everything and more you dream of being

prose’s pond

i see orion looking down to me

his hand reaching out gently

almost as if he feels the need

to wish good onto me after witnessing

the heinousness man has dealt to me

i grab onto his belt, pull him in close

to be in his embrace, hoping he does not let go

for so long i have wanted to be warm

under the stars i have been too alone

left out in the cold, worrying about the unknown

in his arms i can be warm to the bone

memory lane

i bumped into this painting as i was walking down the street of carmel upon my latest visit this year. i remember walking home from dinner mesmerized by its broad brush strokes, almost inviting me into the ocean of colors. i felt so much simply by the sunet-inspired swirls of the flowers and the truly decedant placement of splattered canary yellow; i felt somewhat warm, and then my warmth was certified by the small red heart at the bottom right corner. wherever i go, i feel light following me in ways i woudl not even think of. i hope no matter the challenges you face, you can always find somewhere to get warm. <3
