HOW

hi my loves, it is our warm day, this sunday. i hope you can find some time to sit with me today as we find reprieve and ease our minds from daily life. this week, i found myself going deeper into the simple things, and discovered new appearances of the word ‘how’. “how do i do this”, “how does this work”, “how can i improve”, “how can this be created”, etc. asking how is one of the most sacred and simple beginnings for anything; the mundane, to the grand things.

this week, i worked on expanding my definition of how, and traveled into different places and spaces. the below are some of what my mind concocted, and where my heart landed. i hope these encourage you to ask how, only to find yourself growing in more ways than you thought you could.

i.

gotta get this new part right

i have taken so much time

trying to figure out if

this is wrong or right

when really i wanted

was to learn how to fly

ii.

no matter how high the high

or how deep the low

you are the one thing i adore

the place i know the most

the heaven and my hell

you are my secret place

i would never tell

iii.

remember that you are the change

that you wish to see in the world

in order for it to happen

you have to believe in you

so all you wish can come true

even when i feel like i am on the edge

of losing myself, and falling into the next step

with fear, rather than grace, i try to always

let myself know that i am meant to be here

this moment, nor this emotion, define me

i have a purpose, and i will see it through

memory lane

in the wake/resurgence of ‘how’, i asked myself a lot of questions, only to find the answers were within me, hiding in the shadows. so, whenever i am in the sun and i notice my dark silhouette staring at me, i take a photo of him; to remind myself that sometimes, we find our answers with the sliver of light that we find in the deepest dark. i am learning to love my shadow self and teach him on what it means to ask questions, seek answers and on maintaining warmth in his coldness.
